Sandman Hotel & Suites Calgary South

We stayed due to water issue in our home. The staff was pleasant and the room was clean and comfortable. Morgan was helpful at check-in and gave us tips for walking our dog. Mercy in housekeeping did a great job cleaning our room. Overall, great stay and will recommend to our family and friends.

Very nice location in Calgary surrounded by Walmart T&T Costco and Marshalls. Room is nice and clean. The best part is how nice the staff is. A special shout out to Mei, housekeeping supervisor, she is exceptional, always have smile on her face. So welcoming and friendly, and make me feel home. She offered me a lot of help on my luggage. She makes my whole stay very pleasant. Will definitely come back again!

I had to make an unexpected overnight stay in Calgary while waiting for my dog to be released after surgery at the CARE Center nearby and Grace at the front desk, showed me such kindness and compassion, I am truly grateful. Having the restaurant/bar in the same building was such a convenience, and the bathtub was large enough for a well deserved soak. And the water pressure was awesome. I would absolutely stay there again, and hopefully under better circumstances! I cannot thank Grace enough, for making a difficult situation a little more manageable

Five Stars – Above and Beyond in Every Way The customer service I received here truly blew me away. I cannot even begin to explain how grateful I am to Grace at the front desk who helped me secure a room at the Sandman during one of the busiest weekends of the year — Valentine’s Day and Family Day. I had just come through what felt like a series of unfortunate events. A fire forced me out of my apartment. After finally moving into what I thought would be a fresh start, a faulty baseboard heater flooded the new place. My time living out of hotels, eating takeout, and doing laundry in shared rooms was not over yet. In three weeks, I had stayed in over five different hotels. When the fire first happened, I took very little with me and regretted not having the small comforts from home. This time, I brought everything — thinking I’d be settled for a while. Carrying all my belongings in and out of hotel after hotel felt exhausting and, honestly, a bit demeaning. Each time I thought I’d finally found a temporary home, something changed. With just 24 hours’ notice, I was told I had to leave my previous hotel because they were fully booked for the Valentine’s weekend. So was everyone else. After calling hotel after hotel and hearing the same answer — no availability — I finally reached the Sandman. That’s when I met Grace. I asked about a room with a kitchenette and in-suite laundry. When I first heard the regular rate, it was more than I had been paying weekly at budget hotels. I felt defeated. But then Grace did something extraordinary. She asked what I was going through. As a single 50-year-old who found himself displaced and alone during a difficult stretch of life, I shared my situation. Grace responded not with indifference, but with compassion. She offered me a compassionate rate because of what I had been dealing with over the past few months. That simple act of empathy meant more than I can properly express. It wasn’t just customer service. It was humanity. It was care. It was dignity. From the warmth in her voice to the understanding in her words, Grace made me feel seen at a time when life had felt overwhelming. The Sandman is fortunate to have someone like her representing their brand. This wasn’t just above and beyond service — it was the kind of respect and compassion the world seems to be missing lately. I am deeply grateful. I don’t think I’ll ever hear the word “grace” again without thinking of the grace shown to me by Grace. Thank you to the Sandman Hotel for employing such incredible people. And thank you, Grace, for being a shining light when I truly needed one.

I started with this chain 6 months ago and have stayed in numerous different properties. I believe I am at 5 already in six months. This is the 2nd property in Calgary and in my opinion a much better property. If flying way less convenient. This hotel is tucked away in a neat shopping district. Plenty of options for food and shopping As for the hotel itself, it's the standard setup, but for some reason way quieter. There were 4 hockey teams plus volleyball yet didn't hear a word. The beds are comfortable and the staff genuine, smiling and nice. If I were coming back to Calgary this is where I would stay

I can't give Stephanie at the front desk enough stars! Not only did she let my elderly mother sleep in the lounge until I could check in (after treatment) but made sure she was safe. I've had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for approximately 4+ weeks for WCB treatments and she's been my shining star every week. Large beautiful bed (kitchenette with ks bed 2×) lovely couch and chairs, tons of hot water, easy walk to plenty of stores and hot coffee/breakfast snacks every morning. I've stayed in multiple rooms and have nothing bad to say about any of them. Even the exercise room worked well for my rehab. Hot tub is nice (warm not hot) but I didn't use the pool. Heck even the hockey kids were quiet by 9. I would absolutely stay here again hopefully on a vacation next time! Stephanie you're a diamond!

Recently stayed at this hotel and was very happy with the central location and onsite restaurants and easy access to many stores nearby within walking distance. The rooms were very clean and above all the service was excellent. Stephanie and Grace at the front were both very helpful with any questions and requests I had during my stay and went over and above to help. Very impressed with the hotel and would definitely return.

I stayed at this Sandman in the past and had an excellent experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and everything worked exactly as it should. Housekeeping clearly took pride in their work, and the overall condition of the room made the stay feel welcoming and professional. The staff were friendly and easy to deal with, and the check-in and check-out process was smooth. This has been one of the better Sandman locations I’ve stayed at, and based on my experience here, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean and reliable place to stay.
